Educational Qualifications for IIT Guwahati Recruitment:

Three-year Engineering Diploma in the relevant specialization.
– Diploma in Engineering (3 years) in relevant field
– ITI with 3 years of relevant experience

Candidates must also have knowledge of computer applications.

Department-Specific Requirements:

Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM):
– ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade with 3 years’ experience in operating 33/11 KV, 11/0.433 KV substations and DG sets.

– ITI certificate holders who completed the course after 10th standard can apply.

Central Workshop:

Post 1 – Carpentry Technician: Candidates must hold an ITI Certificate in Carpentry with minimum 3 years’ practical experience in the field.

Post 2 – Mechanical/CNC Technician: Applicants should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an ITI in Turner trade with at least 3 years’ experience operating CNC machines in industry or workshop settings.


Central Instruments Facility (CIF):
– Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry)
– Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Engineering Physics, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering

Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating analytical instruments in Industry, Academic, or Research settings.

Preference given to candidates with experience in handling advanced equipment such as Spectrophotometer, Mass Spectrometer, X-ray Diffractometer, Electron Microscope, Magnetometer, etc.
