About ASSEB
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) was formed in 2024 after the merger of the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). Since then, ASSEB has been conducting the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination for Class 10 students studying in schools affiliated with the board.
Every year, the board publishes the HSLC Routine in advance, allowing students to prepare and plan their studies. For 2026, the official exam schedule has been released and the exam will be held from 10 February to 27 February 2026.

Important Instructions for Students
Reading Time:
Students are given 5 minutes before the start of each exam to read the question paper.
- Morning shift: 8:55 AM to 9:00 AM
- Afternoon shift: 1:25 PM to 1:30 PM
No writing is allowed during this time.
Modern Indian Languages (MIL):
Students can choose from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, Manipuri, Hmar, Nepali, Mizo, Khasi, Garo, Kabri and Urdu.
Elective vs In-Lieu Language Papers:
- Elective languages have a 3-hour duration and include Group A and Group B.
- In-Lieu languages have a 2-hour duration and only Group A is required.
