Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2026

Age Limit

There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main 2026. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent in 2024, 2025, or are appearing in 2026 can apply.

Note: Candidates must meet the age criteria of the institution they wish to join.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who passed or are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible.
  • Those who passed in 2023 or before are not eligible for JEE Main 2026.

State of Eligibility

  • The state code of eligibility is based on where the candidate passed their Class 12 exam.
  • It does not depend on the candidate’s place of residence or birth.
    • Example: If you studied in Delhi but live in Noida, your state code of eligibility will be Delhi.
