Assam Special TET 2026 – LP & UP Teacher Eligibility Test Notification, Apply Online

The Government of Assam has officially released the notification for Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels. This Special TET is conducted for candidates of Bodo, Garo, Manipuri, and Hmar medium, following the norms laid down by NCTE.

Eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam can appear in Paper I (LP) and Paper II (UP). Eligibility Criteria for Assam Special TET 2026

Residency

  • Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.

Educational Qualification (As per NCTE Norms)

Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)

  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Special Education, or
  • Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)

  • Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed, or
  • Post Graduation with at least 55% marks and 3-year integrated B.Ed–M.Ed, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, or
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year BA/BSc.Ed, or
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)

Note: Graduation percentage condition is not applicable for candidates admitted to B.Ed or B.El.Ed courses before 29 July 2011.

Relaxation

  • 5% relaxation in academic marks for SC / ST / OBC / MOBC / PWD (minimum 40% disability) candidates.
